Garret's Story...
With his wonderfully soft fluffy fur, his big, huggable head, and his sweet, charming personality, Garret resembles a teddy bear in every sense of the word. He is extremely attuned to his human, and on walks, seems to pay more attention to his human companion than he does to other dogs. When he does happen upon other dogs, Garret shows an amiable interest, absent of any aggression, in getting to know them. He has an extremely interactive personality and when you’re with him, makes you feel as though you’ve got a true, loyal partner by your side. He has the smaller stature and fluffier fur of a Chow-Chow, and the short tail and attractive black and tan markings of a Rottweiler. Garret has come a long way in his short time at BACS, from his first days of slinking back to the corner of his kennel, to his current restrained jumping with joy at the prospect of spending time with a volunteer out in the fresh air and sunshine of Aquatic Park. We are confident this big teddy bear will make an ideal addition to a larger family, or a family of one.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Garret, a Berkeley Chow Chow/Rottweiler dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chow Chow/Rottweiler for sale in Berkeley, or seeking a Chow Chow/Rottweiler dog from a breeder in Berkeley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Berkeley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Berkeley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chow Chow/Rottweiler breeders who help with Chow Chow/Rottweiler rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Berkeley paves the way for another one to be saved.
