Trevor's Story...
We rescued Trevor and several of his buddies from "death row" at a local animal control facility. That's the good news. The bad news is, the on-staff barber at animal control may have given him the world's worst haircut! We're going to cut them a break though. We're guessing Trevor came to them with his beautiful golden fur in knots and the poor folks at animal control don't exactly have time and money for state-of-the-art grooming. So Trevor is trying to keep his head held high whilst ticking off the days until his coat grows back in and he becomes the gorgeous dog he knows he really is! Trevor's about 6 months old and friendly to both people and other dogs. He's healthy and ready to bond with his new family. Could that be you? Bring a leash and a brush and meet him at 1343 Gresham Rd, Marietta 30062. Or go ahead and fax an application (found at homelesspets.com/adoptions) to 770-971-1292. Email adoptions@homelesspets.com with questions. Remember, foster homes bring comfort to shelter animals and help us rescue more - so consider that option too!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Trevor, a Marietta Golden Retriever/Chow Chow dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever/Chow Chow for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Golden Retriever/Chow Chow dog from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever/Chow Chow breeders who help with Golden Retriever/Chow Chow rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
