Max's Story...
Max was born 08/08/06 and is a Labrador Retriever. He is neutered and microchipped. Max has an orthopedic problem that is managable. Max cannot be walked regularly and yet is an active dog who walks well on a leash. Max is housetrained and knows a few basic dog commands such as sit and stay. He travels well in the car. He has a wonderful and protective disposition. He is an indoor/outdoor dog. All of his medical shots and dog license are up to date. The owner has to find Max a home because her husband was shot and killed at his place of business and with the financial hardship of her husband's death, she cannot afford to stay and live in a place where she can have pets. If you are interested in adoptiing Max, please let us know and we will put you in contact with his owner.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Max, a Lancaster Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Lancaster, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Lancaster.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lancaster already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lancaster breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lancaster paves the way for another one to be saved.
