My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi. My name is Cooper and I'm looking for a very special forever home that can be patient with me and help me to trust people. I am a 3-year-old doodle mix, and came from a puppy mill where I was mistreated and unloved. That doesn't mean I'm unlovable! In fact, I'm very full of energy and love to play with other dogs. I will need to go to a home that has an active pup under the age of 5 years old that I can continue to learn the ropes from. I love to run around in the back yard and enjoy long runs and walks around the park & neighborhood.

I will also need to go to a home that has patient humans (adults only please) that are willing to slowly work with me so that I can get comfortable with them and with their home. My foster parents will tell you a bit about me:

Cooper has a soft heart and is a very curious pup, it's just very difficult for him to get past his mistrust of people. In the time we've had him, he has approached us for an ear scratch if we are laying down, but has done so very timidly and with a lot of hesitation. On the other hand, he LOVES to play with our 4-yr-old Lab. He constantly instigates play, cuddles with our dog and gives him kisses, and will run loops around the backyard to get our dog in a playful mood.

The right home for Cooper will be with people that are very calm, slow-moving and patient. Any very strong, boisterous or extremely masculine/dominant personalities will not be a good fit. Cooper is a shadow and will follow you around the house, however will keep just out of reach. When he finds the right family, he will be a very rewarding dog. If you are interested in helping Cooper to live a happy life and give you love and trust back in return, we'd love to meet you!
