Butterball's Story...
Butterball's owner had an unfortunate fall and died of head injury, and the family turned BB in at animal control, where he was saved by the Petersburg-Colonial Heights SPCA. BB is a gorgeous, friendly one-year-old, and he was with a shy tortie friend. BB is active, friendly, good-natured and handsome, with a thick coat that doesn't appear to have matting issues. He's going to be a big boy so may have some Maine Coon in him! Come see him at the pet center at the Colonial Heights Petsmart!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Butterball, a Petersburg Domestic Longhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in Petersburg, or seeking a Domestic Longhair cat from a breeder in Petersburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Petersburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Petersburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Petersburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
