Liam's Story...
Meet Liam...such a sweet, affectionate and very playful retriever mix. He is young, about 1-2 years old, medium size at 41 lbs. He just LOVES playing with other dogs- would make an excellent companion dog for another young or playful dog, and is fine with cats, too. He is a little shy with people at first, but then comes alive after a short time and really shows you his personality- and he's got l
ots of it. He is crate trained, good in the car, walks well on a leash for those daily walks, and is not much of a barker. He likes his toys and chewies, of course, so you'll always need those on hand. Won't you give this sweetie a home of his own? If you can give Liam a good life with the love and attention he deserves, please fill out an application at www.PeisandStrays.com. He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, and crate trained.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Liam, a Newport Labrador Retriever/Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Australian Shepherd for sale in Newport, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Newport.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Newport already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Newport breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Newport paves the way for another one to be saved.
