Libby Pup's Story...
Meet Libby! She is a 5 month old Golden Retriever and Great Pyr mix. Libby comes with a sad story. She was surrendered to a local shelter because the family ignored her broken elbow and refused to do anything about it. It appears the break was at least 2 months old. Libby's fracture of her left elbow that would not benefit from surgery at this point. We are working on building muscle in that limb to help her have a better quality of life and not have to amputate her front leg in the future. In the short term she should have proper management of diet and work with veterinarians. She should ALWAYS stay slim. She will need a special diet, supplements and physical therapy and very committed owners. The vets at UT see a bright future for Libby with the correct management. Libby's hips should not be a problem with the right management. Libby is calm, sweet, loves other dogs and children.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Libby Pup, a Knoxville Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever for sale in Knoxville, or seeking a Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever puppy from a breeder in Knoxville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Knoxville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Knoxville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever breeders who help with Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Knoxville paves the way for another one to be saved.
