Hachi's Story...
Courtesy Posting:
Hachi came to the shelter as a stray with no collar or microchip. He was thin and covered in fleas. He appeared to have been living outside. He is a smaller dog - maybe 40 lbs and has a foxlike face, like a Shiba Inu, but has the hair of a lab. He has very little similarity to a chow but may have some mixed in due to his coloring. He is a very sweet little dog. He walks like a dream - slow and does not pull at all. He likes toys we discovered and appears to be housebroken as he does not like going potty in his pen. He gets along with other dogs and seems a little afraid of the cats. He is very loving though a little shy when you first meet him. He is a leaner - meaning he likes to lean against you when you pet him. He is heartworm positive, but in the very early stages.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hachi, a Warren Chow Chow/Retriever (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chow Chow/Retriever (Unknown Type) for sale in Warren, or seeking a Chow Chow/Retriever (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Warren.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Warren already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Warren breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chow Chow/Retriever (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Chow Chow/Retriever (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Warren paves the way for another one to be saved.
