Jake's Story...
Jake is a Great Dog! He is a Rescue from East TN BC Rescue so we are unsure of his birthday - I made it the 4th of July. So he just turned 5 years old. He has the cutest Pricked Ears and an incredible "Fox Tail". He loves to be petted and scratched. He has long legs, long ears and weighs 43 pounds.

He goes to a boarding/day care called Camp Bow Wow where the dogs are in Play Yards together and they always "put him in with The Girls". He can be a Scaredy Cat around big dogs. They really love him "at Camp". He has not been around children as I live alone.

My job has changed with an increase in the region I cover, so I am just traveling too much. I hate to have to board him so much. When listed 4 years ago Suzanne described him as a "relatively low drive BC" and that does hold true. He likes to run, but can be a great house dog too. I have an Invisible Fence, and of course being a BC - it is great for him.

A very sweet and loving dog but he does believe the sidewalk belongs only to him (BIG Bark - so no Security System needed) and he lets me know when the UPS guy is here. SMART! Well yeah, he IS a Border Collie! It will break my heart to part with him (he is my 3rd BC) but he deserves better than I can give right now. Please can someone give Jake the home he deserves?

I will be so lost without him but I need what is best for him, not for me! Dog Lovers will understand!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jake, a Oliver Springs Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Oliver Springs, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Oliver Springs.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oliver Springs already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oliver Springs breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oliver Springs paves the way for another one to be saved.
