Pixie's Story...
Pixie is a shy, sweet, affectionate and snugly eight-year-old, seven-pound, female tri-color Rat Terrier looking for a loving guardian. Little Pixie is great with other dogs, cats and people of all ages – including children. She loves attention and her little nub of a tail is wagging happily all the time. She is living in a foster home where she sleeps in bed with her foster family’s children. She is healthy, de-wormed, spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, heartworm-tested and on monthly preventative. Pixie’s adoption fee of $150 benefits rescued dogs. To meet and possibly adopt her, please contact Stana at recycled.pits@gmail.com or 312-320-0455.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pixie, a Chicago Rat Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Rat Terrier dog from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier breeders who help with Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
