Bring some Sunshine into your Life!
Tobey is a large orange short hair cat. He was born March 28, 1999.
Tobey came to us when his person passed away. He has always known a loving home and had excellent vet care. His personality and attitude reflect that.
Tobey is a big, cuddly, Morris-type cat who is loaded with confidence. He's the 'King of the Roost' here, and he supervises everything in his area. Tobey's interested in everything around him. In fact, he is quite the busybody.
Tobey absolutely loves people, and is friendly right from the start. When he wants attention, he will let you know. He has no hesitation climbing up in your lap and settling down for a snooze.
When over-stimulated (usually by petting), Tobey may give unexpected 'love nips'. He doesn't really hurt anyone and he never breaks skin, but it can be scary if you aren't prepared for it -- so we think a family without small children would be best for him.
Tobey's so affectionate that it's hard to believe this snuggly sunbeam hasn't found a home. As it turns out, he's a bit stubborn about his 'marking' or bathroom habits, which hasn't gone over well with potential adopters.
Tobey is used to having other cats around (he had three feline companions in his old home). He would do fine with other feline family members, or on his own as a only cat.
Tobey is used to lots of attention in a home of his own, so he is lonely here at Kitty Corner. We're hoping he won't be with us long. Can you help give him the family he so dearly misses?
Call Kitty Corner at 315-457-4420 or fill out our adoption application at www.kittycorner.org to meet our adoptable cats and adopt a new member of your family.
Tobey tests negative for Feline Leukemia and Feline AIDS, has been spayed/neutered, microchipped, and all shots are up to date.
Kitty Corner has a lifetime return policy. If you adopt a cat or kitten from us and you can't keep it for any reason, we ask that you return it to us. We want to be sure that none of our cats is ever homeless again.
Thank you for looking at our cats!
Rescue Group Info...
At Kitty Corner, we are NOT a shelter. We are "cat rescuers" -- volunteers who live with the rescued cats in our own homes. We provide shelter, veterinary care and a chance for a new life in a loving home for cats who have been abandoned or who never had a home at all due to the overwhelming number of homeless pets.
We are all volunteers and 100% of every donation is used for the care of the cats.
When a cat first comes to us, they are briefly caged and isolated until they see our vet. They are checked for parasites and diseases. We provide vaccinations and any other veterinary care they may need. We also spay or neuter any cat who is old enough.
The healthy, altered cats are then evaluated for personality and placed in one of our four "cat rooms". When necessary, we work to overcome behavior or emotional problems so that the cat will be a happy, adoptable pet.
We try to match each cat with the person or family for whom it is best suited. The happiness of the cat and its new "people" is our first priority. In the last few years, we have taken in hundreds of cats and placed almost all of them in caring, responsible homes.
Kitty Corner is firmly committed to the idea that once a cat comes to us, it will never be homeless again. We have a life-long "cat back" guarantee. If an adoption doesn't work out at any time, for any reason, we ask that you to return the cat to us.
If you see a particular pet listed that you might like to meet, please call or e-mail and we'll tell you all about him or her.
If you are just looking to meet our cats available and see if one "clicks" with you, that's fine too!
Once you've completed the adoption application, either online or by phone, we'll invite you to meet our kitties. All of our adoptable cats are housed in the same location, so you will be able to meet everyone in one visit. We are located in Liverpool, NY.
Whether you have already found a cat or kitten you like in our adoptive listings, or if you just want to come and meet all our cats available for adoption, the first step is the application.
The first step to adopting is the adoption application. Our adoption application can be done over the phone 315-457-4420 or online at our website http://www.kittycorner.org under the "adopt" link; or here's a direct link http://www.kittycorner.org/pages/adoptapp.php
We request an adoption donation for our cats and kittens, which helps us to offset a little of our veterinary costs.
All cats, even the kittens, must be sterilized before going to new homes. We believe strongly in pediatric spay-neuter, a practice that can be used with kittens as young as eight weeks.
Kitty Corner of CNY rescues and adopts our cats to all of Onondaga County, New York State. We will also consider out of the area (including out of state) adoptions on a case-by-case basis.
