I am already spayed.
Rooney and Jonah are a bonded pair. They have been together since they were 8 weeks old. Rooney had to undergo major surgery to connect her kidneys to her bladder. The surgery has worked, but Rooney will probably continue to get bladder infections often. She requires someone who is committed to making sure she remains healthy, but also someone committed to keeping her with Jonah. They love each other and do nothing without each other. They are both playful and loving and fun to be around!

AHeinz57 Pet Rescue & Transport, Inc. is a 501(c)3, non-profit animal welfare organization based in Adel, Iowa. In addition to caring for our local strays, we are working to bridge the gap between traditional animal shelters and no-kill rescues in 2 different ways: 1) By providing free transportation for dogs and cats from traditional shelters to no-kill rescues all over the Midwest and Canada. We also provide overnight rest stops for our furry travelers and temporary housing for those whose time has run out at the shelters, but have to wait for a foster spot to open up in one of the rescues; 2) By pulling as many dogs out of traditional shelters that are on death row and placing them in foster homes and forever homes thru our organization.

1) You must fill out the online adoption application. There is no commitment. It just guarantees a phone call from us.
2) You will be contacted by an adoption coordinator from AHeinz57 as quickly as possible.(Please be patient, as we all have regular day jobs!)
3) A home visit is mandatory prior to adoption.
4) Veterinarian references checked.
5) Confirmation on pet policies with landlords if appropriate.
*Please note that AHeinz57 does not believe in keeping dogs and cats outside and will not adopt to families looking for outdoor pets. AHeinz57 retains the right to refuse any potential adopters.

Adoption fees
Dogs/Puppies:
The adoption fee is $175. Fee includes current vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test on adult dogs, and 1st dose of Frontline (seasonal) & Heartgard.
Cats/Kittens:
The adoption fee is $75. Fee includes current vaccinations, spay/neuter, front declaw, microchip, FeLV Testing on adult cats, and 1st dose of Frontline (seasonal) .
All animals adopted from AHeinz57 are subject to spaying/neutering in accordance with Iowa law. Therefore, all animals will be altered prior to adoption.
We serve the rural cities in Dallas County, IA. We also work with rural shelters all over Iowa and other states to pull dogs that are on death row, place them in foster homes, and find forever homes for them.
