UPDATED BIO 09/14/2012: What a difference a week makes! Maddie is an 18 month old 7.5 lb little girl who is being fostered in Miami, FL. Maddie was initially a pretty scared little girl. She guarded her food and her toys. Fast forward a week and this little girl plays fetch (and let's you take the toy from her) and allows you near her food. We don't tempt her by trying to steal her food or treats (we just don't think it's nice!) ;)
Maddie hasn't had an accident in a few days and responds well to crate training. We still think she would prefer to be an only dog and should probably be in an adult only home (though she is friend,y to people after she gets to know you). She has pee peed on throw rugs; so, beware of the rugs. Maddie is just an awesome cute little munchkin who can either sleep with you or in her crate. She is such a good girl and would make the perfect pet to the right home.
INITIAL BIO 09/06/2012: Maddie is a beautiful little 18 month old 7.5 lb yorkie/shih-tzu mix who was rescued today from a shelter where she was adopted but then returned because she didn't get along with the other dog in the new adopter's home. She is being fostered in Miami, FL and is currently "Looking for Love."
Well, little Maddie has some guarding behaviors. She guards her food and her toys. Poor baby thinks someone is going to TAKE her resources from her! FM is going to work on this with her, but we are thinking Maddie will do best in a hom where she is the only dog and there are no children. She has had accidents but does potty outside too. We'll work with her on that. She is a snuggler and loves to cuddle. She loves being outside on her walks. All in all, she is a great dog who just needs a special home where she can be the only princess. We are seeking a home with some terrier experience. We think she'll make the right family the most PERFECT companion :). Thanks for reading about this pretty little girl!
