My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATE! 9/12/2012: Sookie is pregnant!! Boy oh boy did we get a surprise yesterday when she went for her first vet exam. Overall she was in good health and heartworm negative, but the vet discovered she is carrying 3-4 puppies, which would explain why she weighs 14 pounds! Miss Sookie will be giving birth within the next 3-4 weeks and we suspect that the father is a dauschund, which would make her puppies "dorkies!"

As for Miss Sookie herself, she will be ready for adoption once her puppies have been weaned and she is spayed. In the meantime, we have gotten to know more about Sookie and LOVE what we see. She is very sweet, loves other dogs (although not overly playful and may be due to her pregnancy), walks well on a leash, appears to be potty trained outdoors, and behaves in her crate (although it's not her favorite place to be). Sookie loves to love and cuddle and when she can, she will snuggle up right next to her person. Sookie also appears to have a little mischevious side and can't be trusted around human food or waste baskets and she can jump to table height so we just keep things completely out of sight. And, we do have to watch her at the door, because she is quick to dart out, so we just don't let her get the chance. Other than that she is PERFECT lady and would be a great addition to any home. She would probably enjoy another fursibling and a fenced yard, although it's not mandatory. Does she sound like she could be for you? Would she be a fit in your home? We promise she is worth the wait!! Please consider her and submit an application. Thanks!

INITIAL BIO 09/10/2012: Meet Sookie! Sookie is a cuuuuute 3 year old 12-14 lb little girl (who should lose a couple of pounds) who is being fostered in Tampa, FL before she makes her way to North Port, FL next week. She was surrenders by her owners who didn't have the time to take care of her anymore.

Sookie is a sweet, gentle, playful little girl who is submissive. She does like to get into a little mischief as all puppies do and is learning basic commands, crate training, and getting lots of lovin'. She is going for a checkup this week and will be spayed soon depending on the results. Please stay tuned as we get to know this little one better. :)
