Sergio - Adoption Pending's Story...
Hi! My name is Sergio. I was rescued by some very nice people who found me and my sister Sadie wandering in Rocky Point Mexico. We had been left to fend for ourselves. The nice people who were taking care of us needed another place for us to go, so Sadie and I were brought back to the US in June 2012 and were nursed back to good health. I am a playful 5 year old male, good with kids, adults and other dogs. I am house-broken and crate-trained and love to go for rides. Despite everything I have been through, I am still very loyal and trusting and would fit well into almost any home. I get a little too friendly with kitties (translation: I chase them which apparently they do not appreciate), so would do best in a home without any felines. I am neutered, up-to-date on my shots and micro-chipped. If you would like to add a handsome guy like me to your family, I would love to meet you! Please contact New Hope Cattle Dog Rescue.

About Our Rescue Group...
New Hope Cattle Dogs' mission is helping discarded, stray and unwanted Australian Cattle Dogs (ACD's) that need a second chance at finding a forever home and providing education and training to the public.

We believe that there is a special place out there for all unwanted and abandoned ACD's. It is our duty to match your lifestyle with the dog's personality for a "perfect" fit. It is important to us to place the dog that is right for you and your family in your home. Therefore, there are strict guidelines and qualifications that all potential adoptive homes must meet before we place a dog in their home.

Come Meet Our Pets...
Before adoption or viewing of adoptable an adoption application (http://www.newhopecattledogs.com/adoption_form.htm_) must be filled out and a home check must be completed. Then an appointment will be made between potential adopter and our foster home to meet the dogs.
Our Adoption Process...
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up-to-date with all age appropriate vaccinations, had fecal exam, been dewormed, are microchipped and vet checked. We have recently started doing Heartworm tests and starting all our dogs on heartworm preventative. We do not have the funds to do additional screening tests for Erlichia or Valley Fever unless the dog is showing signs of illness. If they are showing signs, we will then screen the dogs for these illnesses and treat appropriately. The adoption fee is $150-$250 (depending on the dog, with most dogs being closer to $200) and that includes all vetting previously mentioned. Please understand that this fee barely covers our medical expenses, shelter fees and does not begin to cover housing and feeding. So if you are able, an additional monetary donation is appreciated. Remember that we are a non-profit rescue group.
(Example Cost Break down for female puppy under one year old: Spay-$120-$165, 3 booster vaccinations (DHPP-C)-$15, Rabies shot-$15, Microchip and Registration of Microchip-$35, deworming medication-$5, fecal exam-$28, brief vet exam-$27: Total cost-$245.00) This example is typical for the majority of dogs we take in. If you add antibiotics (which most of our dogs will require), food, additional screening tests, fees to get the dog out of the shelter and gas to and from appointments, our costs are well over $400 per dog.
We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties...
The entire state of Arizona, Southern California, New Mexico

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sergio - Adoption Pending, a Gilbert Australian Cattle Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Cattle Dog for sale in Gilbert, or seeking a Australian Cattle Dog dog from a breeder in Gilbert.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gilbert already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gilbert breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Cattle Dog breeders who help with Australian Cattle Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gilbert paves the way for another one to be saved.
