Bitsy's Story...
My name is Bitsy. I am a 6-year old female Chihua/Dachsi mix that was rescued from a lady who was about to lose her house. Bitsy had had four puppies when she was taken in by CAPS. All of her babies found wonderful homes and now it is Mama's turn!

I am current on my shots, spayed, micro-chipped, and on heartworm preventative. I am housebroken, get along with other cats and dogs, and love people! I really am the perfect companion dog!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bitsy, a Jacksonville Chihuahua/Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Dachshund for sale in Jacksonville, or seeking a Chihuahua/Dachshund dog from a breeder in Jacksonville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jacksonville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jacksonville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Dachshund breeders who help with Chihuahua/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jacksonville paves the way for another one to be saved.
