Ramona is one terrific little girl.. she was found in front of a home with a cone shaped item hanging around her neck.. it was clear that this poor girl could not even fatom the thought of moving never mind being able to eat.. She was brought into our shelter where we were able to remove the cone.. and boy was she so happy to have that off her head!! She looked up at us with the biggest smile then ate her food as if she hadnt had a bite to eat in days.. She has been here for a few weeks and is now ready for adoption. she is not at all skiddish and would make a great addition to most any family.. she is fun friendly and has the best personality!
She loves boxes... any size and shape.. she has spurts of energy where she will race through the hall and chase her toy mouse.. She is a wonderful cat .. for more information and an application , please email us at: meridensociety@sbcglobal.net

About Meriden Humane Society

About Our Shelter...

We believe it is our moral responsibility to protect and improve the lives of abused, abandoned, and homeless cats and dogs, and to place them in loving permanent homes.

We provide spay and neuter services and any and all necessary medical care for pets.

We work diligently to educate the public on the importance of pet sterilization, responsible pet ownership, Disease control, as well as the Humane Treatment of Animals.

The Meriden Humane Society has been a "No Kill" animal shelter since 1836.

We are a private organization and are not affiliated with any other Humane Society or rescue organization. We do NOT receive any funding from the city or state, but in fact are funded by the generous people who believe that "Life Matters".

Come Meet Our Pets...

We are open to the public from 12-5pm Friday thru Sunday. We can also make appointments on other days if our schedule does not meet your needs. Please email us at: meridensociety@sbcglobal.net for all inquiries.

Our Adoption Process...

All potential adopters over 21 years of age must first fill out an application for adoption. It takes at least 3-5 days for application to be processed. Vet checks are done as well as references, and home checks. Our cats are $95.00 for a fully vetted cat. Dogs are $175.00. Puppies are $250.00 for a fully vetted dog/pup.
