Henry's Story...
You won't go wrong if you pick Henry! He's a 2 year old Retriever mix that's an owner surrender. Henry's a big boy that was recently adopted and returned because of his tendency to chew. If you provide him with lots of chew toys he's happy. This friendly fellow has manners in the house and is house trained. Henry is fine with kids and other dogs. He is not a lover of cats. If you're in the market for a nice family pet and you like bigger dogs, Henry just may be the boy you're looking for. If you have kids and/or another dog in your family and you are interested in adopting a Friendship dog, please bring them with you for a meet and greet. You do not need an appointment. Come anytime during regular business hours.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Henry, a Elyria Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in Elyria, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Elyria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elyria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elyria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elyria paves the way for another one to be saved.
