Portia's Story...
Meet fluffy Portia! She's 5-6 months old. a brown tabby with luxurious long hair. She's adorable, and, by the way she demands pets and attention, you can tell she knows it! Watching her dash around the cat room in pursuit of a toy or one of the other kittens, you'd never realize she has permanent scarring to the third (inside) lids on both her eyes. She was born in a hoarder's house and the eye infection she got as an infant wasn't treated until we got her, and by then the injury to her eyelid membranes was unfixable. She has most of her vision and, judging by her purrs, she doesn't care about what vision she doesn't have. She would love to bring her gorgeous self to your lap. Her eyes should need no further treatment. She's been fully-vetted (spayed, shots-up-to-date, microchipped) and she's ready for her forever home. If you'd like to meet Portia, call 502-222-7537 or email jojohsoc@aol.com.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Portia, a LaGrange Domestic Longhair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in LaGrange, or seeking a Domestic Longhair kitten from a breeder in LaGrange.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in LaGrange already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a LaGrange breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in LaGrange paves the way for another one to be saved.
