My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, I'm Dixie. I am pleased to meet you, and I'm hoping that you might be able to find a place in your heart for a special cat. You see, I'm a young, pretty girl, but I've had a hard time of it so far in life, and I am in need of some TLC and patience. I am really hesitant about meeting new people from my cage here in the shelter. I am not shy, but I don't seem friendly when you first meet me. It could be the other cats in the room or the fact that I don't like the shelter, but I promise you, I do have a lot of potential. I am brave and outgoing, and I like to come out of my cage to explore. I will sniff your finger, and if you take the time to slowly introduce yourself, I'll touch your hand with my paws. I also like to play! I really enjoy batting at one of those toys that has a bug at the end of a wire - it's pretty fun. I also love catnip - I roll around in it and lick it - such a great treat!

Not much is known about my background, but it's probably safe to say that I haven't had it easy. I was found at the doorstep to MaxFund, so no one knows if I had a home at one time and was given up or if I was found as a stray or what. I could really use some stability and certainty, that's for sure!

I'm such a pretty girl, and I have soft fur and long white whiskers! I think that if someone gave me a chance to thrive, I'd make a wonderful companion. I would probably do best in a quiet home as an only child. I don't care for other cats at all, and I haven't been around children or dogs, but it would probably be best for me to be in a home without them. The best kinds of relationships are those you work for, and I promise that if you devote a little time to me, I'll pay you back in spades!
