found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am already spayed, purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.
This wonderful, loving dog was rescued from a high-kill shelter two years ago. She was in pretty rough shape, but responded very well to veterinary care and a major grooming! We think she is about five years old. She was found on the streets in New York City, so we don’t have any history for her. But we do know that she is very snuggly and just wants to be loved! Lita has many special traits. Probably the most noticed is the way she walks; her gait is like a prancing pony! She lifts her front paws out in front of her with each step, and holds her head high. She attracts a great deal of attention when we are out walking. She is an outstanding walking companion- she can go for 2-3 miles without difficulty, and she is always well heeled. While enjoying her walks, she is also very content to stay home and hang out where ever her people are. Playing fetch with her squeaky toy is her favorite activity, indoors or out. She is gentle and only barks if someone comes to the door. While we love little Lita very much, we have observed that she is a bit nervous. After working with trainers and her vet, we concluded that Lita would be happier in a home with at least one other dog, which we are not able to provide. She has attended doggie daycare very successfully, and is the center of attention when she is there! Lita has some trouble with her vision, which may be why she prances. It doesn’t interfere with her daily activities though! She gets around easily and is learning about stairs. She is in very good health, is current on all her shots, is spayed and micro-chipped. She is an excellent car traveler, whether long or short rides. Her weight is stable at 10 pounds. She has hair, not fur, so she doesn’t shed or aggravate allergies! This little bundle of love is a real sweetheart, and grows very fond of people she comes to know. She can be wonderfully silly and playful, but doesn’t need a lot of exercise. She just loves to follow you around from room to room, like a little shadow. Lita is not at PAWS, she is still at our home in Connecticut awaiting her new family. If you would like more information about her I would be happy to speak with you. Please call Pam at 508-776-2331 or email email@example.com.
