Kate's Story...
Kate is a very beautiful, happy, sweet, and friendly, four-year-old, 53-pound, female, cream and white American Staffordshire Terrier-mix looking for a loving guardian. She is housebroken, and very people friendly. She knows the command sit and takes treats very gently from your fingers. She loves to admire herself in the mirror … so adorable! She doesn’t love all dogs, but she does play well with a male pit bull-mix at her foster home named Gilbert. She does prefer male dogs to female dogs. She has not been cat-tested. Poor Kate was bred repeatedly for her wonderful puppies, but landed at Kane County Animal Control when she was no longer needed. She is a tail-waggingly friendly girl who is snuggly sweet and gives lots of kisses.

Kate is now very healthy, spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped and heartworm-tested. Her adoption fee of $200 benefits rescued dogs. Kate is living in a foster home in Chicago, Illinois. To meet and possibly temporarily foster or permanently adopt Kate, please contact Melia at

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kate, a Chicago American Staffordshire Terrier/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Staffordshire Terrier/Labrador Retriever for sale in Chicago, or seeking a American Staffordshire Terrier/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Staffordshire Terrier/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with American Staffordshire Terrier/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
