My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bindi is a pretty little girl who looks like a small golden retriever or spaniel mix, about 3 years old and 22 lbs. When she first came to us she was very scared and a little on the timid side, but she has been getting her confidence up and acclimating nicely in her foster home. Her personality is very sweet towards people she knows, but tends to be a bit leery of strangers when she first meets them. She is inquisitive, loves walks and likes attention and is completely house trained - not having had a single accident in her foster home.

Bindi will sit for a treat in the house and is learning other commands. She is bright and will catch on fast, but she will benefit most by an owner who is experienced enough to give her guidance and correction. When she first arrived at her foster home, she showed signs of guarding what she perceived as her own (food, bone, sometimes attention), but this is happening less frequently as she becomes more comfortable and is learning there is nothing to be afraid of. She is also becoming more active, playful and relaxed with the resident dog in her foster home.

Bindi isn’t crazy about the crate, so we think she should be adopted to a person or family that isn’t gone for long hours. She loves to sleep with the boys in her foster home; getting under the covers around their legs. We think this makes her feel safe. We haven’t had her around very young children, but we believe a home with older, gentle children would be wonderful for her. Bindi’s history prior to her arrival at Adopt-A-Pet has been less than ideal, and while she may take a little time to adjust to her new home because of that, we believe she will make a wonderful pet to someone who is patient and will get satisfaction and joy in watching her blossom into a confident, loving girl.

Bindi's adoption fee of $325 includes: vet exam, heartworm test, distemper combination vaccination, rabies and bordetella vaccinations, fecal test, routine deworming, flea control, microchip and spay.
