My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

10/13/12 - I'VE BEEN ADOPTED!

Adoption Fee: $375

Fostered in Louisiana

Age: 5 years

Weight: 5 lbs.

10/2/12 - Do you ever feel, like a plastic bag, drifting through the wind, wanting to start again. Thought I’d take this verse from Katy Perry’s song since this is how I felt until recently. I was left in a pet taxi in the parking lot of an animal shelter early one a.m. Yep, that’s how special my previous owners were, they couldn’t even wait until the shelter opened and walk through the doors to surrender me. Just sat the pet taxi on the concrete hoping someone would notice me before it got too hot outside. As we all know, animals can’t pick their owners, and I certainly did not pick those people.

The shelter contacted Yorkie Haven and they swept me up, gave me a warm medicated bath to help with my flea dermatitis, got all my vetting done that was lacking (which was everything), put me in a foster home and now I am feeling as if I never had a bad day in my life.

Foster mom says that I am just the sweetest, most loyal thing she has ever met. I love playing with dogs, cats, people, and even though I haven’t been exposed to any pot bellied pigs, but since I have such a great personality, I would probably love them too. I’m doing very well on my potty training (if let out often enough during the day and night). I have to admit, I do like to be held and will give kisses if you allow me to. I walk well on a leash, but would really love a secure fenced yard to call my own to lie in the sun at times and soak in the rays and be able to run around and play and do my business without a human 10 feet behind me on the other end of a leash. I will alert you when I hear a noise, so an apartment life probably wouldn’t be best for me. I’m calm, but have energy when needed. And sometimes act more like a cat than a dog when I rub against your ankles and legs like a cat showing affection.

This plastic bag has landed and is now looking for better owners than the last. My foster mom says that this time, I pick my owners. My new family and home will be chosen in accordance to my needs, likes, dislikes, etc. So, I guess animals can pick their owners if they are lucky enough to end up at Yorkie Haven Rescue like I did.
