Buddy is a calm, happy, loving boy who just wants someone to love him as much as he wants to love them. He hopes to find a forever home where his special person can be with him most of the time, but is fine if left alone for a little while. He enjoys the company of other dogs, but doesn't really play with them. He prefers the quiet life, snuggled in with his human. Although he is fine with children, he will not be placed in a home with young children due to his small size. Budddy is potty trained to both puppy papers and outside. He has a great appetite – for all food and for life in general.
Budddy craves all human attention and has come out of his shell. Upon arrival at his new foster home with his adopted cousin, Reba, she was very protective of him and watched every move he made. He was very quiet, timid, and frightened around new people, and hid whenever anyone new was there. He was hungry for attention BUT always seemed surprised and unsure when he received it. He initially retired to our “Griff Communal Bed” to spend most of his days but loved to be picked up and sit on laps. Now he is demanding his rightful share of the attention, acting 5 years younger than when he first came to his foster home! He is the sweetest little one and will melt your heart. He likes nothing better than to be curled up in his foster daddy’s lap or snuggled into his neck at night in bed. This handsome little boy is quite a treasure! Buddy wants to be with his humans all the time and loves when you talk to him. He gazes so intensely that his foster parents are sure he understands every word.
Buddy was born July 10, 2001,and is just under 8 pounds, so is a bit of a senior Griff. Being a senior, he has the beginnings of cataracts and a slight heart condition (a mild grade 2 heart murmur), but does not require special care or medication. His weight should be maintained at or under 8 lbs. There are no symptoms to his heart condition at all. With proper care and maybe eventual inexpensive medicine, Buddy has a long, healthy life ahead of him. He would do best with more settled adults who are retired or work from home.
Buddy is up-to-date on vaccinations, micro-chipped, heart worm negative, neutered and is being fostered in Burneyville, OK. We prefer to place him within driving distance of his foster home. If someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to fly in to get Buddy and he must fly home in the cabin with his new family. Under no circumstances can he ever be shipped in cargo. We do not place our dogs in homes with invisible (electric) fencing.

American Brussels Griffon Rescue Alliance Inc. (ABGRA) came into being to meet the needs of the Brussels Griffons and Affenpinschers who are abandoned, might be abandoned, or whose circumstances we can improve. We will endeavor to accept these Griffs, regardless of their circumstance, knowing that we might be their last hope. We strive to leave no Griff behind.
We are especially mindful of the Griffs that have spent their lives in commercial breeding facilities and who will have a chance at a better life through our efforts.
ABGRA is a non-profit national rescue group founded to provide commercially bred Brussels Griffons and Affenpinschers a chance at living in a home for the first time as a pet.

All adoptions are placed by application through our website-
Our adoption donations are from $200 - $350 and reflect the vetting costs incured for each dog as well as some dogs whose costs far exceed the donation.
We interview all references provided and require a home visit before placements. An adoption contract is required. If the dog is returned within 30 days, a refund will be issued. ABGRA requires adopters be 25 years old, or older, and are looking for stable permanent adoptors. In most cases, these breeds are not recommened for families with young children or for people who are not home for long periods of time. They are the perfect pet for someone who can take their dog to work with them, work from home, or are retired.
