Lucky's Story...
Meet Lucky. She's a rat terrier mix, approximately 3 years old and weighing about 15 pounds. Lucky loves everyone, children to adults. She's a very sweet and playful girl. Lucky likes all dogs but does love to chase cats. However, if the cat tells her who's boss, she will back away. She knows a few basic commands and is leash trained. Lucky was rescued from a neighbor of her current foster. Her rescuer cannot keep her so she needs a forever family. Lucky isn't fully housebroken, but with a loving owner who will give her time and attention she needs, she can be housebroken. Lucy is being kept outside now and she doesn't like it, showing her disapproval of her situation by barking - another thing that can be resolved with a loving owner with the time and attention she needs. Lucy is spayed and due for her vaccinations this month, so we will be bringing her up to date for her new owner. We will also check her heartworm status but she has been on monthly prevention. Sweet Lucky just needs someone to love her and pay attention to her. She's eager to please and will make a wonderful pet. Are you the person she's been looking for? Someone to love her, play with her, spend time with her? Rehome fee $100.00. Email Positive Alternatives to Shelter Surrender at pass@caabr.org.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucky, a Baton Rouge Rat Terrier/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) for sale in Baton Rouge, or seeking a Rat Terrier/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog from a breeder in Baton Rouge.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Baton Rouge already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Baton Rouge breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) breeders who help with Rat Terrier/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Baton Rouge paves the way for another one to be saved.
