TATE's Story...
This handsome kitten is mellow, friendly, and curious. He enjoys attention from his people although he is shy to new situations so be prepared to give him time to adjust to a new family and home environment. Tate was one of several cats rescued from a colony in West Alameda in early September 2012. He enjoys the company of another feline friend and would do well if adopted with one of his family friends: Tobias, Smokey, and Sasha. He needs another cat buddy in his home. He will be okay with kids over age 7 and possibly a calm dog. We estimate he was born in June of 2012. Bio# 3299 MB

About Our Rescue Group...
ICRA is an all volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to reducing the suffering of the abandoned cat population of Alameda and Oakland, and to educate people to their plight. We provide foster homes for our rescues until we can place them into loving homes through our adoption program. On a limited basis, we humanely trap feral cats in order to spay/neuter them before releasing them back to their colonies. Our goal is to expand our program for maintaining cat colonies in our communities. To make this expansion possible, we need more volunteers.
Come Meet Our Pets...
Adoptions are hosted at PETCO, 2310 S. Shore Center, in Alameda's South Shore Center, every Saturday from —
11 am to 4:00 pm

No cats show on major holiday weekends.

Enter the store, head to the right past the registers and straight ahead to the far wall of the store. There is a door there where you will find our cats.

Our Adoption Process...
Potential adopters pick out a cat or kitten and fill out an application.
There will be a short interview with one of our volunteers. Adoptions do not happen the same day. We will arrange a time to visit your home and the foster parents and a volunteer will meet there. Our adoption fee structure is:

  • Cats and kittens (six months to 8 years): $100
  • Cats (over 8 years): $75
  • Two cats: Full amount for the higher amount cat, half amount for the lower amount cat

    For example: a kitten and an adult would be: $100 + $50 = $150

Prior to Adoption all cats and kittens are:

  • Spayed or neutered
  • FeLV and FIV tested
  • FVRCP vaccinated
  • De-wormed, and
  • Treated for fleas with Advantage or Frontline
