My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello My name is Jack I was born around June 13th 2012, and as of January 15th I weigh 32 pounds. I've been told I'm a really good boy. My breed, well it's really just a guess so just call me a Heinz 57. I think they should make up a new breed called cuteness, and that would be me! I am an active boy that would love a family to play with me and love me forever.

I am currently in a foster home with older children who I adore, but I think older children over the age of 7 would be best for me as I play hard and jump sometimes. I would be a great dog for boys, and I would love a fenced in yard (no electronic fences for me please) I LOVE other dogs, and I am FABULOUS with all of them. When I settle down I love to snuggle next to my people and I am told I'm a real lover. I love the kitties because I like to chase them and bark at them, but many kitties may not like that. My foster mom says I am very smart. She always makes me sit to get a treat which I don't mind at all, I listen very well to NO, I have fabulous recall, and I am fairly submissive. I bet I'll be easy to train as long as I get yummy treats and am people motivated...meaning I love to please! I really like it at my foster home, but I can't wait to find a home of my own and a family to love me always. I'm a little shy when you first meet me and may bark, but I warm up very quickly. I'm very submissive and would get along with anyone. It may take me a couple days to warm up so my rescue says they would be willing to do a foster to adopt for a week to be sure my new family will love me. I'm a really good boy if someone will just give just come and meet me they will see how wonderful I am.

I am not crated at my foster home, but gated in the kitchen and family room to keep me safe and out of trouble. I do very well in my crate when I go to Doggy Daycare. I can hold it all night without having an accident, and haven't had an accident in weeks in the house. Most of the time I will bark when I need to go outside, but sometimes my foster mom just knows my signals. I hope my new family understands that although I know the house training rules at my foster home, my new home will have to train me as well as I don't know the rules in your house.

I came to Angels on Wheels with my sister Abby from a high kill shelter in Harlan, Kentucky. My sister Abby has already found a home, and I hope one comes along for me soon. I spent a long time at Animal Control waiting for someone rescue me. I'm so glad the nice people came and got us out of there! It's no place for a puppy like me! I'm really loving being in a home with people, and I LOVE people and dogs. I've been told I'm a good hunter as I've already caught a squirrel and some chipmunks. I promise to keep your yard safe from those things. I would love a lap to cozy in or next to as I am a huge snuggler. If you think you could be my forever family, please fill out the pre adoption application/questionnaire at www.angelsonwheels.org. I know my family is out there waiting for me and I can't wait to meet them! I am being fostered, in a home in Naperville, which is where you would go to meet me should your adoption application be approved.

Jack spends a couple days a week socializing at Central Bark Doggy Daycare in Oswego playing with the other dogs and meeting new people. As you can see in the video he does well with everyone.

PLEASE NOTE THAT BREED, AGE, AND SIZE AT MATURITY ARE ONLY GUESSES!!

If you want to meet this special animal, you will need to go to www.angelsonwheels.org to complete the on-line application. If your applications is a good match, you would go to the foster mom's home to meet him. Please be patient with the process. Angels On Wheels Animal rescue is an all volunteer rescue with jobs and families trying to save some lives. It can take a few days to process applications.

The adoption fee of $175.00 includes the neuter which is already done, microchipped, 3 puppy vaccinations for Distemper-Adenovirus-Parainfluenza-Parvo, rabies vaccination, bordetella vaccination, dewormed with panacur, treated with Revolution for the prevention of fleas and heartworm, along with any other medical needed. You will also receive a free office visit to Crest Hill Cat and Dog Clinic, Woodridge Animal Hospital, Yorkville Animal Hospital, Wheaton Animal Hospital, or Midwest Animal Hospital in Orland Park a training dvd, and tons of coupons for Petco.

Please note that we are a foster based rescue and do not have a facility, which means all of our animals are cared for in homes of wonderful people who have volunteered their time to help save them.

Thank you for looking at our rescued animals and wanting to give them a wonderful home.
