My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cosmo is a miniature Dachshund about 8 years old and weighing 13 1/2 pounds. He is recovering nicely from a skin issue that was due mostly to exposure. Skin is baby-butt soft and the fur is growing in. Cosmo is what we call "ball crazy" in that he wants to play ball all the time. If you won't play with him, he plays by himself--burying it around the house then pretending surprise when he finds it. Very cute. Cosmo has limited vision. He is not blind but a case of dry eye has caused some visual impairment. He has drops and ointment for his eyes but that's all he needs. A new mom/dad needs to toss the ball so that it rolls and he can see it and find it. He will bring it back for the next toss. Steps and stairs are a hazard so Cosmo needs to be protected from falling. Cosmo is crate and leash trained, neutered, and current on his vaccinations. The ideal home for him would be one with no small children (he does not dislike them but may not be able to see them and anticipate them), another dog would be OK.
