REX's Story...
Meet Rex! This dapper little fellow had a sad story until an amazing woman stepped in! Rex was brought in for surgery for IVDD and when it looked like he couldn't walk in a week, his family abandoned him. They simply didn't want him any more. An angel agreed to foster him and even got him his own set of wheels! He can now walk on his own and has no trouble going to the bathroom outside. He uses his wheels when he's tired but most of the time he doesn't even need them. He's an active 3-4 year old pure-bred Dachshund. He is up to date on vaccines, neutered and micro-chipped. He gets along well with other dogs, cats, and kids. He really is a fun loving little guy who is also very happy and content to snuggle next to you on the couch and watch TV.

If you would like to offer little Rex a place in your home, please email for an adoption application and to make an appointment to meet him. Please note: dogs are seen strictly via appointment only!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

REX, a Jersey City Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Jersey City, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Jersey City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jersey City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jersey City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jersey City paves the way for another one to be saved.
