I am already neutered, housetrained, and up to date with shots.
Meet Harley! A 10-year-old, 18 lb, Miniature Pinscher who is housetrained and neutered and up to date on shots. This little guy's owners had to move and couldn't take him, but Harley has more life and love to give! He is fine with strangers and is very snuggly. He is very loving, loyal and cuddly, but can nip if he feels pressured or threatened so we would like to ask that no small children live in the home with him, however responsible, older tweens or teens would be fine. Harley loves to go for walks and he walks nicely on a leash. He is fine with respectful dogs and cats, but will get upset if they come near him while he is eating so he should always be fed separately if there are other pets in the home. He prefers to eat in his crate where he feels safe and loves to snuggle under the blankets in his crate when he is cold. Harley would not be suited for a home with young kittens, puppies or active young dogs that may pester him, as he likes to be calm and quiet. He does love his dog friend Zoe at his foster home, because she respects him when he's eating and doesn't get to excited near him. Harley will walk underneath her when he's in a good mood and "press" himself against her legs with his tail wiggling. He does that with his favourite people too, to show he loves them :) Mr. Harley loves to snuggle on the couch while you watch tv and is very calm and sweet. Because of his awesome low-key, adaptable demeanor, he would be the perfect addition to a home with a mature couple looking for a doggie companion that doesn't require too much exercise, although he does love a nice walk! Harley is healthy, active and spirited, and in great shape. A Min-Pin's average lifespan is 14-17 years, so he is by no means at the end of his lifespan. Harley is proud, handsome and sturdy looking, smooth-coated, and is what they consider to be a "red" Miniature Pinscher. He looks like a little deer! He is house trained and sheds very little. He loves treats and will sit nicely for a snack :)

Rescue Group Info...
We are a volunteer-based, donation-only service that provides non-judgemental, supportive help for people who are surrendering their companion animals. We also provide support to people who are looking for a new furry addition to their family. We: -provide free advice and suggestions to people who are experiencing issues with their pets, including but not limited to behavioural issues, training advice, surrender help, and much more -spay/neuter education, advice and referrals -put ads up on petfinder.com and kijiji and around the community -screen potential new homes over the telephone by asking many in-depth questions -do a home visit to make sure the people are "as good as they sound on the phone" -contact their vet and do a vet check to make sure they get a good reference -provide transportation from the old home to the new home -get the old owners to sign a Surrender Form -get the new owners to sign an Adoption Agreement Form This is done on a donation-basis only and circumstances may vary based on the situation. We believe in the power of community, respect and inclusion. Our volunteers have over 10 years experience in the animal rescue field, have rescued hundreds of animals, have worked in the field and have College Diplomas in Animal Care Work. We are committed to helping people find homes for their pets because we care about our community and love animals. If you are someone who is surrendering their animal we know how hard it can be and we know you would want your pet to go to the right home, not a home where your pet will be subjected to neglect, cruelty and abuse.
As we are a rescue group, we don't have a shelter, just loving foster homes throughout Muskoka. Please contact us to make an appointment to see an animal.
Our process for adoptions are as follows: Step 1: telephone or in-person screening Step 2: Home visit Step 3: Vet check Step 4: Adoption!
All of Muskoka Region including: Huntsville, Bracebridge, Parry Sound, Port Carling, Bala, Gravenhurst.
