Baxter's Story...
Baxter was a former resident of Animal Care Services Brooks Annex. For those who dont know the Kennels at Brooks are very basic outdoor kennels where the city takes overflow animals from its main shelter. So needless to say when we heard this guy was out there we scrammbled to find him a foster. We turned to our social media outlets and were able to find a willing family who was interested in getting into fostering. So we rushed over and picked him up. I was shocked at how handsome he was when we got there. His coat was nice and full and beautifully shiny. He didn't resemble a dog who had been at the shelter for a week but more closely resembled someone's very well kept pet. We walked him out of there and he was a bit shy but since being in foster care he has gotten comfortable and is a very well mannered guy. He is house trained and also does well in a crate while no one is home. He gets along well with other dogs and cats and has been a sweet heart with his foster's toddler. SNIPSA is an organization formed by a group of veterinarians and caring individuals dedicated to helping homeless and unwanted animals in San Antonio and the surrounding area. SNIPSA does not have a standing shelter and depends on a core of volunteers to foster and rehabilitate animals in their homes. This provides us with the opportunity to learn first hand about the animal’s needs and behavior in order to facilitate an appropriate adoption. SNIPSA was incorporated in 2005 and has re-homed more than 3000 animals.
