Xin's Info...

Xin's Story...
Xin is deaf, must have hearing dog in home, and needs a family with no small children.

The Bracken County Kentucky animal shelter contacted Harlequin Haven Great Dane Rescue after one of their volunteers asked for their help. My supposedly reputable breeder asked her to find a rescue that would take me and find me a good home. My breeder was unable to sell me because I am deaf. The agreement the volunteer made with my breeder was not to disclose who she was and what my exact birthdate was so no one would know who she was. When the county dog warden contacted HHGDR they agreed to take me, so the very next day the dog warden brought me to the rescue. I am loaded with fleas and have had NO vaccinations and have not been wormed! I was however given a bath by the volunteer, so I do smell good!!

I now have a ton of toys to play with, a soft bed to sleep on and plenty of food!! I have already been wormed and given flea treatment so life is good!! I sure am glad to get rid of those old fleas!!!
Update September 23: Just wanted to let you know that I think life is wonderful!! I got some brand new toys today because I am such a good boy!!! Grandma said I was too cute when I was playing today so she took some new pictures of me and I placed them below! Okay time to go play some more!!
Update October 1: Well I had a great day today!! I went to the vet and had my eyes checked and the vet said they are good!!! He has no idea why when I first came into the rescue that my pupils were not working properly but all is great now!!!
Update October 2: OH BOY!!! I am NOW ready for adoption!!!
Update November 25: I am still looking for my forever home!! A lot of people have been interested in me but none have realized what a deaf Dane needs!! So I decided that I best have a couple of new pictures taken so you could see how big I have gotten!! I also got a new playmate Zuri is deaf just like me and our birthdates are almost exactly the same!!!

Xin is deaf, must have hearing dog in home, and needs a family with no small children.. (HHGDR does not adopt puppies out to families with small children. Please see our FAQ http://www.hhdane.org/faq/faqmain.htm#nosmallchildren)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Xin, a Bethel Great Dane puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Great Dane for sale in Bethel, or seeking a Great Dane puppy from a breeder in Bethel.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bethel already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bethel breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Great Dane breeders who help with Great Dane rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bethel paves the way for another one to be saved.
