Zambezi's Story...
Hey, there! I’m Zambezi. My foster family thought it would be cool to name me after this river know for its beautifully fluid and undulating movements marked by periods of such serenity.

Zambezi’s foster family tells us she’s that perfect mix of play and cuddle. Among her littermates of two boys (Jacques and Max) and another girl (Gimlet), Zambezi enjoys both independent and group play. “She is an absolute joy to watch,” the foster mom tells us. “Zam makes sure everyone is in on the party or the group snooze.” Zambezi will transition easily into her new forever home with any of her siblings. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Zambezi, a Chicago Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
