And now, a few words from me: Don't be fooled by my being vision impaired .I do indeed need a reliable guide-human to show me around, but I'm otherwise a really active, fit, curious, normal guy. Seeking a committed relationship with a patient, compassionate, cuddly human.

Harper will thrive in an environment where there is routine, lots of human presence someone who works from home would be ideal but not a requirement.
He can be a little anxious at times but is much calmer now that he is taking anti anxiety meds for this. He came from a very busy environment where there was no love or human interaction, so he was very confused when he first arrived. He had to get used to being touched and loved, with his lack of vision it was all very confusing to him at first but he is a smart, fast learner ,and now just loves cuddles, kisses, and rolls over for more .Harper is house trained so an enclosed back yard would be a huge benefit to him, he is also crate trained.
He is a WONDERFUL companion. Harper is very, very affectionate but does need a little help and seeks great comfort in having others around as would be expected with his limiting sight. If you feel you can open your heart and home for this wonderful dog I promise you will have a friend for life in Harper.
Before you decide to bring in a furry addition to your family, please take a moment and try to think about your life over the next 10 to 15 years - or even more. Where will you be? Do you have plans to move? Travel? Have kids? Are you able to provide the dog with his or her required exercise demands? Please think very carefully about how this dog will fit into your life as new events may unfold. We want to ensure that this dog’s next home is also its last. LOYAL Rescue is a foster based rescue with homes located throughout the province and in the United States. We do not operate a shelter, thus do not have viewing hours. Each pet is in a private home. In order to adopt this pet, please visit our website www.loyalrescue.com and fill in our online application. If you have any questions, please email us by clicking here.
Once you submit the online adoption application, we will arrange for a volunteer to contact you to conduct the telephone interview. The same volunteer will also contact your veterinarian and personal references. If the interview and references go well, a home visit will be booked. Should you be the successful applicant for this pet, you are then welcome to come and meet the dog. You are not obligated to adopt if the fit is not correct, however we must go through this process prior to you meeting the dog.

Although LOYAL Rescue has only been around since 2006, members of LOYAL Rescue have 40+ years of rescue involvement. Through our combined love and dedication to the dogs, we have come together to do what we can to save a life.
All adoptions REQUIRE an application to be filled out. There is an online application at www.loyalrescue.com. Once you complete the application, we will call you to answer any of your questions and confirm details before proceeding. We then call your vet for a reference, and call each of the three references you list on your application. If all goes well, we visit your home to confirm this is the best possible home for the dog you are applying to adopt. If you are approved, you then fill out a contract, pay an adoption fee (between $300-$400) and adopt the dog. ALL DOGS are up to date on shots, spayed/neutered (unless too old, unhealthy or too young to do), dewormed, defleaed and health checked before going to their new home.
We are located in Peterborough, Ontario and serve this area as well as the Kawartha's, across Ontario and even into the Norther States. YOU MUST PICK UP YOUR PET THOUGH as we DO NOT SHIP.
