Cookie's Story...
Cookie is a little angel! She loves being petted, doesn't mind being picked up... She's never aggressive, and really likes cuddling up with you on the couch. A gentle, friendly purr-box of a kitty, who is not scared of visitors or kids. This cat is small and fine-boned, which gives her a very dainty look. Cookie is 12 months old, spayed and up to date on shots. She's dewormed, flea-treated, and healthy. She is an indoor-only cat who is litter-trained and uses a scratching post. Cookie gets along with dogs, and most cats (as long as they're spayed/neutered.) Her hobbies include looking out the window at the world, and sitting on laps. Her short fur does not require grooming.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cookie, a Syracuse American Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Shorthair for sale in Syracuse, or seeking a American Shorthair cat from a breeder in Syracuse.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Syracuse already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Syracuse breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Shorthair breeders who help with American Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Syracuse paves the way for another one to be saved.
