Meet Miss Olivia. She is a deaf (double merle) Australian Shepherd/Jack Russell mix, so she is a bit petite (about 30 lbs). Olivia is approximately 3 years old. She has a mysterious background, and of course a proper lady never tells her age.
Olivia is adventurous, loves long walks, chasing balls, playing with other
dogs and then settling down with you for a long nap. When you are hanging out or working at your desk, lying on your feet is her favorite place, unless you are willing to share your lap- and then she jumps right on and cuddles away.
Olivia has participated in the Illinois State rescue dog training project, and got
straight A’s in obedience and tricks. Even though she is deaf, Olivia can sit, down, stay, walk on a leash, shake hands, give high 5’s, and roll over. You just need to learn the hand signs and she will gladly show you all her tricks. She is one smart Aussie!
Olivia has not been around small children, but gets along very well with preteens, teenagers, and adults. She is good with cats, although she does have a tendency to herd them when you are not looking!
Olivia is fostered in Bloomington Illinois and is patiently awaiting her forever home. If you are looking a wonderful, smaller Aussie who is well trained AND are willing to learn about living with a deaf dog, then Olivia is for you. Fill out the
