D'Kedrian's Story...
Hi - I am D'Kedrian, a young two year old male, purebred Sable and White Sheltie. Surrendered by a breeder, I am a very happy and playful boy. I am a larger guy, weighing about 35 pounds. Living in a house is sure sweet and I am working on my housetraining really hard. I am crate trained and learning to walk on lead. I LOVE playing with my canine housemates, and would do well in a home with other playful dogs, and humans who will pet me and rub my ears. Please come meet me and the other wonderful Shelties at Petco on 75th & Metcalf . . . I will be the gorgeous boy with a big smile on my face and my tail happily wagging.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mission already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mission breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog breeders who help with Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mission paves the way for another one to be saved.
