My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kipper was rescued as a heartworm positive owner surrender at a local shelter in May of 2011. She came through her treatment with flying colors and is heartworm clear at this point, and all her blood work looks great. She had an issue with Staph infections/Ringworm during her heartworm treatment, and was shaved to make it easier to treat. She has stayed at the rescue since her rescue, we just love her here. However, in the past few months, she and another female here have started fighting. We have been rotating them with the pack, but both Kipper and the other corgi are becoming very stressed. She has some storm phobia, we have her on Flutoxtine daily and use a Thunder shirt when it storms and she copes much better, the daily medicine has made the biggest difference.

Kipper is the sweetest, most loving, and beautiful corgi. We do not want to to go anywhere, but she needs to be an only dog, for her own sanity. She loves to cuddle on the couch, go for walks to explore the neighborhood, and look out the front door. She also chases files! She has had some urinary issues, and needed antibiotics from time to time. Only when she is having issues with a UTI will she have accidents in the house. She has a one a week pill that keeps her from having incontinence issues, and it has stopped the UTIs so far as well.

She is special to us here at the rescue, so her adoption process will be a bit rigorous. There is an adoption application, reference check, and home visit REQUIRED for her. She has been bounced around alot, and we want her to settle down in a forever home, we had no intention of her ever leaving here, but the stress of being separated/fighting will shorten her life.
