My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lake is an approximately 3 year old, mantle-marked merle, male with natural ears. He came to the rescue from a shelter and though his foster home has tried to find a vet who may have taken care of him, not much is known about his past. Although he was very underweight when he came in he had did exhibit some obedience manners, his coat was nice and he looked to have been well cared for at one time. In the time he has been with his foster mom he has gained about 17 pounds and looks great. He seems very happy and at ease with the other two Danes in the home and now that he is neutered and his shots are current he is able to go with them to the local dog park. He is still excitable about feeding time and will jump around with crazy zoomies but will calm down when told to sit and wait. Other than being a little pushy about meals and a little too excited when his foster mom gets home from work, he is a sweet, lovable Dane who loves to be touched and with people. He is good around kids but would probably push very small children over unintentionally. He is sweet as can be with the foster cats, and is great with all dogs though he has run over a couple of little dogs at the park (without injury). He even went on a five-mile hike and had a blast! When playing he can jump very high and twist around in the air so a 6 foot fence would be a necessity. Overall his foster mom is absolutely crazy about him. He would be a great companion to anyone who would love on him and let him share the bed or couch…yes he will sneak up when the opportunity presents itself to him!
