Missy's Story...
Missy is friendly and a bit sassy. Would prefer a home as the only cat, but not necessary. Missy likes to be brushed and to curl up in a lap for hours. She is a mature cat who has mellowed out but still has a lot of energy.

She loves to get attention and to have her thick teddy bear fur brushed. She will even walk in front of you and flop onto her back to tell you to pet her.

Reason for relinquishment Foreclosing on my home, I have to move to an apartment and I won't have room to keep all the cats that I have. I also cannot afford all the cats, the two that I am keeping have health issues and extra vet costs.

Missy is a courtesy post. If you'd like to meet her, please contact Lisa Wolford. Cell: 480-241-6713. email: ...

Rescue Group Info...

About Our Rescue Group...
ALF is based in Tempe, Arizona. We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 organization who provides TNR (trap, neuter, return), and life-long care of feral and community cats. We serve as an advocate for the ferals, and a link to the rescue community.

Animal Loving Friends believes that we - as a rescue community - will never adopt our way out of overpopulation and euthanasia; the root cause of the problem has to be fixed: unaltered free-roaming animals. The number of births we prevent by spaying and neutering homeless cats directly contributes to adoption achievements, by keeping approximately 1,000 animals every year out of adoption and kill shelters. This means there is space for 1,000 more to be saved by adoption groups. It is commonly stated that every animal you adopt saves two, the one you adopted and one more who can take the available space. Every cat that ALF fixes, saves 9 more from facing danger and the likelihood of dying a sad and lonely death.

On rare occasions, we foster tame animals while they await adoption. All of our adoptable pets are tested, vaccinated, spayed or neutered. We strive to find loving, responsible forever homes for pets, so that they will never know hunger or danger again. We do not have a shelter facility and do not accept animals from the public.

Overpopulation of homeless animals leads to the needless suffering and deaths of over 4 million animals each year. Please spay and neuter all your pets and urge your friends and family to do the same. If you are feeding stray cats, please contact a low-cost clinic today to schedule spay and neuter appointments.

If you'd like to help, or donate food or vet services, please email alfrescue @ hotmail.com for information. Donations are tax-deductible.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Missy, a Tempe Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Tempe, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Tempe.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Tempe already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Tempe breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Tempe paves the way for another one to be saved.
