Gertie's Story...
Adoption fee is only $100!
Gertie is one of our newest toy sized dogs. She is 2 years old and only 5 pounds. She is shy with new people but a total cuddle monkey. She loves to cuddle with human (men or women) and especially to be under the blankets. With new people who try to pick her up she will mouth them, gently, and then is great being held. She learns to trust quickly, and is actually just a fun dog. She plays, and looks silly and makes cute noises, but then she doesn't bite hard or anything (making her ideal for all ages). I am not usually a fan of little dogs, but she is just really easy- spends most of her time being cute and cuddling! She is crate trained and mostly housebroken (I have to put her out as in the morning she does not want to go outside). She is not a fan of cats, she will chase them and nip of their tails or bottoms (sadly mine is too old to correct this behavior). Because of her tiny size she will not be considered for families with small children. She is spayed, utd on vaccines, microchipped, had her teeth cleaned and will come with a month of free pet insurance.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gertie, a Sacramento Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Sacramento, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Sacramento.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Sacramento already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Sacramento breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Sacramento paves the way for another one to be saved.
