My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chi Chi Cheri
Born 6/22/2012 Female Turkish Van Mix
Cheri is not really a Turkish Van, but she does have the “van pattern.” That is, she is almost entirely white, with color on her head and tail. She is short-haired, unlike a Turkish Van, but no matter what her heritage is, she is an adorable little girl.
She arrived at the shelter in July, at about four weeks old, as a single kitten. Four weeks is too young to be made available for adoption, so the shelter asked whether we would take her in. At that time, Cheri was just starting to eat on her own but still needed some help. Not for long! Once she figured out how to eat out of a bowl, she quickly earned nickname "Food Face,” but even this was an understatement. In fact, when she ate, she would thrust into the dish not only her whole face but also most of her body and all four paws! She was quite comical to watch--and a real treat to clean up. Now that she is older, she has figured out how to eat like a little lady.

Cheri’s foster mom fosters close to 45 kittens a year, and some just touch her and her foster dad's heart more than others. Cheri is one of the charmers. She is beyond cute, in both looks and personality. She will not be a very large cat; we assume she will keep the daintiness about her. She has very delicate features. She is human-identified and loves to sit on your chest. If you let her, she will wrap herself around your neck and then chew and lick on your ear. And of course she loves to snuggle in bed.

Cheri is sweet and loving, playful and fun. She would love to have a feline companion in her new home. She has also been around a small, gentle dog and would be good with older, well behaved children.
Chi Chi Cheri is fostered in Davis, CA.
