Rory is such a good boy and already crate trained! He loves to play with most other dogs, loves to run, jump, play tug, catch and loves to chew on a good bone, like all young dogs he is still learning what is his and what’s not, but is catching on quickly! He would be good dog for agility; this might help him with his insecurities as well.
Rory is very sweet and was rescued from a hoarding situation, so he isn’t sure of people at first glance and is a bit timid. He can be startled easily with loud noises, and is a little skittish but once he becomes comfortable with you he would love to cuddle!
He seems to come to people who are quieter spoken and let him come to them. Rory would do best in a home with older kids, above 12, because he is hand shy and fast movements and loud noises will startle him.
Rory would do great in a home another youngish dog and an owner who has experience and patience to work with a shy and skittish dog.
Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. AVID Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.
The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
