Clarisse's Story...
To know her is to love her! It's impossible to look at her enchanting little face (snub nose, fangs & all!) without smiling; Clarisse, a ten pound & four year old pekingese, has the feistiness and energy of a dog half her age. She likes to carry around her favorite toy (currently a stuffed yellow star) as well as take it to bed with her; since it's bigger than her head, it's quite amusing to see her trotting around with it in her mouth. She's quite low-key and as a result is easily accepted by other dogs; Clarisse does enjoy brisk walks but is equally content to lie placidly next to you - especially if she has her toy! Her adoption fee is $150; she's spayed, microchipped and current on vaccinations.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Clarisse, a Indianapolis Pekingese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pekingese for sale in Indianapolis, or seeking a Pekingese dog from a breeder in Indianapolis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Indianapolis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Indianapolis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pekingese breeders who help with Pekingese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Indianapolis paves the way for another one to be saved.
