Oscar's Story...

Oscar is a 10 month old pure bred Shih tzu that came to us via a county shelter that was unable to give him the proper socialization and training he needed. Oscar was more than likely purchased as a puppy without much thought and never worked with. Oscar was a matted scared mess when he came to us, better pictures after his spa day coming soon! Oscar is doing great now that he is out of the shelter, we have had no behavior issues with him since entering FIDO's Rescue and is ready for his forever home! Oscar has worked on housebreaking, commands, and proper play with us. Oscar has a cute little underbite where his bottom teeth stick out over his lips, he is full of personality and is sure to make anyone fall in love. He is neutered, UTD on shots, microchipped, and fully vetted. Oscar's adoption fee is $275. Email

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Oscar, a Lancaster Shih Tzu puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Lancaster, or seeking a Shih Tzu puppy from a breeder in Lancaster.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lancaster already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lancaster breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lancaster paves the way for another one to be saved.
