Bonjour! I am Jackson, but my name once-upon-a-time was Pepe... like that cartoon skunk "Pepe Le Pew". Don't worry - I smell just fine, but like my friend Le Pew I am black with a white stripe. I am a five year old male Shepherd Mix. I'm an old friend here at Suncoast as this is my second visit here. Its okay - I just need a home where I can be the only dog. I am 73 pounds and need room to run and play to keep me young and spunky. I said Spunk... not Skunk! So here I am at Suncoast in search of a fabulous home (again) that will promise to keep me forever and ever. I am loyal and will probably bond strongly with my owners and may be protective of them. I LOVE KIDS! I would be happiest with someone who is home most of the day, as I suffer from a bit of separation anxiety. I am well mannered around other dogs but I may benefit from being your one and only since I tend to be a bit dominant. Hope to see you soon! Au revoir!

Founded in 1971 as the Animal Aid Society of Englewood, Suncoast Humane Society began with a few cages where people left stray animals to be cared for. Over the years, our service area has grown to include over 400 square miles, covering three counties: Sarasota, Charlotte and portions of Lee.
Suncoast Humane Society provides a safe refuge for thousands of lost, abandoned and abused animals from our service area each year. We are committed to our open-door policy of never turning any animal away, regardless of health, temperament, breed or circumstances.
We are open to the public for adoptions (or just come to visit the animals) as follows:
Tuesday - Friday 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Adoptions stop @ 4:30 PM)
Saturday 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM (adoptions stop @ 3:30 PM)
CLOSED SUNDAY AND MONDAY
