Buster's Story...
Buster is an extremely active and friendly boxer mix. At approximately four years of age, Buster loves to play. Buster has some basic obedience skills and could be placed in a home with older children. Buster loves car rides, especially with the windows down! A fenced yard for Buster to expend his excess energy would be ideal. This loyal companion is waiting for a loving new home. Although he loves the company of people, he would be best suited as an only pet.

About Our Shelter...
Safe Harbor was founded in 1985 and was the second humane organization in the state of Florida to open a low-cost spay / neuter hospital. With between 7-10 million animals a year being killed in our nation’s shelters, Safe Harbor’s mission first and foremost has always been to reduce the over population of unwanted pets in our community. We do not believe that euthanasia is the answer to dealing with the pet over population crisis. Our charitable hospital offers low-cost spay / neuter services and medical assistance for everyone and free services for pet owners who are on disability, social security or who are experiencing financial hardships. We have sterilized over 75,000 animals over the past 24 years, preventing hundreds of thousands of unwanted puppies and kittens from being born and thousands more from being needlessly destroyed. Safe Harbor has never turned an animal in need of medical care due to their owner’s inability to pay.
A few years after establishing the charitable hospital, Safe Harbor opened one of the only true no-kill shelters in South Florida. The shelter reserves it’s space for animals who have been abused, neglected, injured and abandoned. No breed is discriminated against, any animal in need is given shelter at Safe Harbor. We are a charity surviving on donations alone, and our capacity is limited. For the welfare of the resident animals, we cannot exceed our capacity. Cages are not vacated by routine euthanasia. They become available only through adoption.
