Plum's Story...
Plum is the most cuddly and human-snuggly cat that her foster parents have ever encountered. Born around March 2012, she is a teenaged kitten who is soft and loving and would rather be held and carried around than anything else in the whole world. Of course, she also likes to play and is fairly active, but human love and attention definitely trumps everything else enjoyable that she could do! She is fairly petite, very soft, and is black with a cute white dot on her neck.

Plum is particularly fond of bedtime where she curls up on top of her human friend. In fact, her very favorite place to lie down is on your head if you will let her! She gives lots of love nudges and kisses and cleans her people with her little tongue to tell them how much she loves them and how happy she is to have a home. She also wastes little time to find her special person's lap where she will snuggle up and keep you warm.

Plum was found with her six siblings wandering the streets of DC, where they had clearly been abandoned from a human home and were left to survive in a feral colony. A kind 4Paws volunteer rescued them and got them into foster care. Plum is spayed, current on vaccines, and tested negative for feline leukemia and negative for FIV. She promises to give you more love than you have ever gotten from a kitty before if you will just give her a permanent, loving home!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Plum, a Merrifield Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Merrifield, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Merrifield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Merrifield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Merrifield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Merrifield paves the way for another one to be saved.
