Tipper's Story...
I arrived at AWLMC from Lexington, VA. My former owner lost her job and is close to losing her house. She has lots of pets and needs to find new homes for some of us. She found me under a pile of rubble at a construction site with burnt paws. I am a handsome black and white tuxedo boy. My names come from the white ‘tip’ of my tail. I am friendly, but sometimes need to be encouraged to come out and explore my world. I don’t mind being held and I enjoy being petted. I have had 17 teeth pulled due to gum issues. I am doing really well and as you can tell I love to eat. Please take me home today! I was born in April 2007.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tipper, a Gaithersburg Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Gaithersburg, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Gaithersburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gaithersburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gaithersburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gaithersburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
